HELP WITH STUDENT LOANS

Can bankruptcy get rid of your Student Loans?

No. But it can really help you out. Here is how it works:

Government Rules Changed:

The Federal Government changed the law to make it easy for almost anyone to get a student loan even if your credit was questionable. The idea was to help more people get an education and be able to earn more money (and pay more taxes). It makes sense. But as you probably know, it is not easy to pay for the student loans right after college. It usually takes time to build up a sufficient income to pay them off. However, since the government made it easy to get a student loan, they made it very hard to get out of it.

The Exception:

There is an exception that will allow you to get out of a student loan, but it is very hard to qualify for it. Basically, you must be permanently disabled and deemed unable to pay back the balance of the loan. If there is even a slight chance that you will be able to work and pay off the loan in the future, then you are probably not going to qualify for the exception.

SO HOW CAN BANKRUPTCY HELP???

Simple, if you are behind on your student loans, then you are probably being harassed by bill collector’s phone calls and letters. These people are generally not nice. They add levels of stress to your life that you just don’t need. Bankruptcy will put an end to the phone calls. Collection agencies are not allowed to contact you while you are under bankruptcy protection. They can’t garnish your wages either. Basically, bankruptcy buys you time that you desperately need to get a better job and earn a more livable income that will allow you to actually pay off our student loans in the future. Stop the madness. Contact an experienced and qualified bankruptcy attorney today and get some professional advice. If you live in or near San Antonio, you can call me for a free initial debt consultation. I will advise you on what your best options are to attain financial freedom. Your first visit to my office is always free, and always confidential.

Sometimes your finances don’t turn out the way you planned. Don’t stress yourself out about it. Federal Laws exist to help you out.
